Website Update History

This document just keeps a record of the changes and updates made to this website (you can see the computer programmer coming out in me!). It's also a good way to see if I have added anything new since a previous visit.

6 June 2007	Bodiam Castle page updated with details of the castle added and the bat identified!
23 May 2007	Diary entry of my recent trip to Mid-Wales and the Long Mynd. Fixed a typo on the Hang Gliding diary entry on 12 November 2006.
16 May 2007	Descent now runs in Firefox.
27 April 2007	Updated the JavaScript powering the Hang Gliding gallery.
26 April 2007	Fixed some incorrect dates! Re-jigged the JavaScript engine that renders the gallery.
16 April 2007	Fixed some little typo's in the gallery. Now using Notepad++ to author the website.
7 April 2007	Added some additional photographs to the Lake District gallery and fixed a typo. Enhanced the JavaScript that runs the slideshows so that the fade effect is used in browsers like Firefox.
6 April 2007	Added photographs from our recent holiday to the Lake District to the gallery section section.
9 Feb 2007	Lots of work going on behind the scenes at the moment... Now using Light Box 2 JavaScripting for some really cool gallery effects in the gallery section. Removing some of the really old JavaScript that has been used from day 1 for rendering parts of each page - this is now being implemented in PHP.
7 Feb 2007	Added footer logic to more pages on the website.
29 Dec 2006	Nunney Castle added to Cara's Castles. Fixed some badly formatted HTML in the hang gliding gallery.
3 Dec 2006	Updated the FavIcon that accompanies the website.
15 Nov 2006	More updates to the hang gliding gallery ! Also converted the gallery to php. Small tweak to the Software page in the Portfolio section.
12 Nov 2006	Did some flying! Cara got some great shots and they've been added to the gallery! The Flying Diary will be updated shortly.
25 Oct 2006	Well, I haven't been flying recently, so I've converted some more pages to PHP.
15 Oct 2006	Improved style-sheets so printing fits to the page better.
29 Aug 2006	Re-edited the hang gliding movie (removed all reference to the old morphic website). Slowly moving more HMTL pages to PHP and have fixed some links that still pointed to the old HTML pages - but I bet there's more!
23 Aug 2006	Added an account of my hang glider tow endorsement training at Lejair in the diary. Added some new pictures to the hang gliding gallery (a result of my tow training).
3 Aug 2006	Animated graphics on coaching page in the canoeing section. Some re-jigging of the code behind the pages.)
29 Jul 2006	Added PIO explanation to hang-gliding section. Internal work on the CSS and added graphics to the baner that now appears at the top of each page.
25 Jul 2006	Started adding a new banner across the top of every page. Will being adding some images to it shortly. Added the 'What is a Sled Ride?' page.
6 Jul 2006	Small update to the 'Do you fall if you let go?' page.
29 Jun 2006	Added FAQ to hang-gliding section.
22 Jun 2006	Included some comments I received about the ACC website.
14 Jun 2006	Completed some of the Lake District Walks in the protected section of the website.
12 Jun 2006	Re-worked a bit of the Amiga page in the music section, re-adjusted a couple of links and removed 'Morphic is moving' from the website splash page.
31 May 2006	Lots of things happening in and around the website. I found some more CSS attributes! Scroll bars now uniquely coloured for this website! Added some new canoeing videos. Started adding the 'Gallery' section and kicked it off with some wildlife photographs, one a little too weird for my liking! morphic.co.uk is now gone having being sold to Morphic Ltd, the domain has now been transferred.
3 May 2006	A few more tweaks to stop people getting really high scores (i.e. killing all asteroids but one then waiting for the alien and killing it then repeating the process (updated to version v1.10).
	Added some more features to the hang gliding gallery. Slide show now shows a progress bar when loading and both gallery modes now show date and camera type where specified.
14 Apr 2006	I think I've finished this one now! Alien space ships now appear after level 3. Fixed loop hole with the shields (Cara somehow managed to keep them on for a long time!).
13 April 2006	Been in the new job for a while so it was time to add the 963 project to the portfolio section.
12 April 2006	Added diagnostic page to website. Normally used at work for collecting client specific information.
11 April 2006	Cara found some bug in Blasteroids and complained that she couldn't pause the game when something interesting happened on TV... so, the bugs are now fixed and pressing 'P' will pause the game. Additionally, Matthew Kinchin sometime ago said the spaceship should recoil each time a shot is fired. Pressing 'R' now toggles this mode on and off.
March 2006	Well, there's been quite a bit of activity in March. First off, the big one is the domain www.morphic.co.uk will shortly be sold to a company based in Bristol. As a result this website has now become www.morphFX.co.uk. As a result of this change I've spent considerable time changing old references to this new website (this includes the videos, games etc). Unfortunately I'm unable to modify references on publicly released DVD's, Software and MP3's. The Blasteroids game has now been improved and I now use the Eclipse IDE for authoring (same as what we use at work!). I've used some new samples and the entire game is now packaged in a JAR file. This basically means faster download and it 'should' get around some of the problems with the samples not being downloaded (on some firewalled computer networks). After our recent trip to the Lake District, I've been able to compile some new illustrated accounts in the private area of the website. Viewers will need a username and password to access. Please contact me if you require one. After another failed attempt to fly at the Devils Dyke (too windy for my glider) I captured a photograph of one of the higher performance gliders getting some air time in!
February 2006	Now using FireFox and have noticed that some of the JavaScript games are not working. Pac Person has now been modified to work with FireFox. Redesign in progress - using CSS to control most of the page formatting now. Hang Gliding gallery is completely new (new pictures).
January 2006	More flights added to my flying diary in the Hang-Gliding section. Updated the Capel Saw Mill article in the Archives section. Lots of wedding photographs added. Added an account of the 2005 Easter open boat trip on the River Spey, Scotland. A couple of new pictures on the Canoeing gallery. Site contents page revised to show what's new. New game added to games section.
August 2005	Started adding Honeymoon photographs to the private section of the website.
July 2005	Started adding Virtual Tours to the private section of the website. Started re-coding the JavaScript games so they work with other browsers. Added Flying Diary to the Hang Gliding Section.
April 2005	Frome Sports Centre Bar painting added. Lots of new bits including my first hang gliding video.
December 2004	Lots of re-coding happening behind the scenes. I now have another browser (Morzilla) and I have found that lots of bits are not working (mainly the animated bits via JavaScript). Site moved back to frames again showing a complete site map to the left to simple navigation through the site.
September 2004	Hang Man updated and words in the JavaScript have now been encrypted because there's been a few cheaters (Alex!). Site Map script added to JavaScript section. Massive rework of the entire website has taken place. The site had been neglected over the summer months and a spell of crap weather meant I had to stay inside! The website has been re-coded to fit to a 800 pixel width screen. Previously the site expanded to fill the available space. I found at some higher resolutions some pages looked too sparse! I've now filled most of the holes (and created some new ones). The Mountain Biking section has been temporarily removed until I’ve enough content in it to make a section worth visiting!
March 2004	New Artwork subsection added to the Portfolio section.
January 2004	New JavaScript section added (work in progress). New Archives section added to website. New Sampling page added to Tracking section.
December 2003	Grammar corrected and top of page navigation added to 'Push it, Level Designer' page. New pictures added to the canoeing gallery. New access page added to the mountain biking section. Lots of little teaks going on, mainly the navigation tabs at the top of each section. 'Access' page added to the Mountain Biking Section.
November 2003	Added new page navigation tab in the hang gliding section. Changed the title page to the website.
October 2003	Yippee, a new web game added, Pac-Person, the politically correct version of an old classic! 'Web-Games' introduction page cleaned up. Photograph Gallery contents page added. Main site contents page added with 'mouse over' graphics. Table made more colourful in on the Amiga downloads page.
September 2003	I've been getting more visitors, must be the university college photograph! Adopted a logo for this site and have updated pages appropriately. Added 'Bottom Bracket' to the mountain bike repair shop. I found another college photograph - University of Wales College of Cardiff - Sorry Guys! Initial web site welcome page simplified - no scrolling graphics with loads of images to load! Some major re-working in the canoeing section - sorry, it's now looking very messy with bits missing! Started to add the Mountain Biking section which was removed when this site was re-designed. Watch this space - there's going to be a bike repair/maintenance manual here soon!
August 2003	I've been canoeing a bit so the site's been a bit neglected! New navigation icons added to each page.
July 2003	A few more pages added... New page added to the hang gliding links section. Entire website re-located to the Freeserve server. www.danz-webspace.co.uk was formerly located on Freenetname's servers until they deleted the website and requested a fee to reinstall it again.
June 2003	Lots of tinkering and new bits added... Initial splash screen changed. Contents page completely re-designed. Contents page added to the canoeing section. Symonds Yat rapids river guide added. Canoeing terminology page added.
May 2003	Fixed download link in the Amiga tracking section. Descent level 1 after speed up zone has been made easier. (Extra row inserted!) Hey, I can complete it now! More links added to the canoeing and hang gliding sections. Added a whole new section about the Amiga into the Tracking section. This includes some of my very first pieces ever composed (previously un-released). Modified Descent game engine. It is now not possible to modify the maze wall where the marble currently is. Descent added to web-games section (it was a wet bank holiday weekend). Modified the way in which Push It! records its moves (the undo works better now!). (a move is now defined as each move of a block, not the face!). 'Support' page added.
April 2003	Added "Push it" to web-games section.
March 2003	Main menu transition speeded up. Slower machines rendered this painfully slowly.
