Aerotow

The British summer had certainly arrived in style, no flying in 3 months! Typical! The few days that had been flyable, I was unable to attend for various reasons, but I had now excuses weekend; it was time to try aerotow again!

Since my previous visit to the aerotow fields of East Sussex, I had moved my hang point forward in an attempt to make the aerotow a little more comfortable on my arms. The conditions for the day were benign and made it an ideal day for training new pilots, and, an opportunity for me to improve the art of aerotowing.

I only managed the one flight, but the adjusted hang point position really made a big difference and I felt more comfortable than my previous aerotows. I was released off the tug at 2,300 feet and enjoyed a gentle descent back to the field. A couple of small broken thermals lured me into a false hope of a prolonged my flight but after around 10 minutes I was back at the airfield.
