The Royal Wedding… Not!

Did everyone watching the Royal Wedding? Not me, the wind was bang on for Bo Peep – that’s where I was!

I arrived early and watched a few PG's fly and the sky was really murky and did not look inviting. With that in mind and possible over-development, I popped down to Middle Farm for a coffee and a cake and by the time I was back at Bo Peep, blue bits in the sky had appeared!! Yay!!!! The wind had also increase so the paragliders landed and I launched. I had the whole of Bo Peep to myself for 20+ minutes. A was bumpy in places and the quarry appeared to pump off regular thermals! It wasn't particularly buoyant but with the odd thermal, topped up my height when required.

Wondering why all the other hangies hadn't launched; I top landed to see what was going on. Just the usual hill-side banter, so, off I went again! This time I launched into a hole; why does Bo Peep do that? I narrowly missed the barbed wire fence and dropped down the hill and didn’t think I could glide clear of the trees to the bottom landing field! I expected rotor from the trees so stuffed the bar and flew quickly eastwards in front of the hill and scratched into the main bowl east of take-off! This was not pleasant flying but I had climbed back to ridge height with some mildly soiled underwear! Eventually I relaxed a boated back and forth in the ridge lift!

20 minutes later, after I had enjoyed some more quarry thermals, I was back on top of the hill. That was enough excitement for one day, so it was off to the pub for a late lunch.
