This was my very first glider after qualification at CP level. This review has been written retrospectively and of course, is likely to be very baised compared to the more modern wings of today!
I purchased this glider secondhand through my training school and I think it's pretty reasonable to say, the glider had been used a fair bit! Back in the late 90's, the Calypso was already an old glider, but also very popular with new qualified students!
For storage reasons, I had to short-pack this glider to squeeze it through the front door of my house and store it up the stairs (it was the only dry place I could store it!). Short packing involves the remove of the outward leading edges. Initially I used to un-screw the ball at the tip of the leading edge to extract the leading edge, but soon discovered, with the glider lying flat down with the wings slightly spread, it was possible to remove the leading edges without unscrewing these balls joints.
